About Us
The Uttar Pradesh Board of Madarsa Education, Lucknow was established under the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madarsa Education Act, 2004, which came into force with effect from 3rd September, 2004. The Board was constituted by the Government of Uttar Pradesh to provide a structured framework for Madarsa education, recognition of institutions, and conduct of examinations in the state.
The Board oversees educational institutions imparting Madarsa education and provides for examinations and certification in subjects including Arabic, Urdu, Persian, Islamic Studies, Tibb, Logic and Philosophy, along with other branches of learning specified by the Board. Its jurisdiction covers recognised Madarsas and Oriental Colleges within Uttar Pradesh, with its administrative headquarters located in Lucknow.
The Board’s establishment marked the creation of a statutory framework for regulating and administering Madarsa education in Uttar Pradesh, including institutional recognition, examination arrangements and related academic matters.
